WSF car fountain

A tow truck lugs the 1991 Chevy Cavalier out of the fountain at the entrance to the Wyoming State Fairgrounds shortly after the accident took place June 11.

A red 1991 Chevy Cavalier crashed into the fountain at the entrance to the fairgrounds June 11 around 4:30 p.m. Shalynn Cannon, 17, was driving the vehicle while her father Chris, rode in the passenger seat. Chris reported the incident immediately. Neither of the passengers sustained injuries.

Douglas Police Department Patrol Officer Sherry Evans, who was on scene, had no comment. Chris stated that it was an accident that occured when Shalynn mistook the brake pedal for the gas pedal as she turned into the fairgrounds from West Yellowstone Highway. The vehicle was towed shortly after the incident, and no major damage was done to the fountain.
