Memorial services for Mary Mildred Bunning, 96, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 1, 2014, at Kingdom Hall of the Jehovah’s Witnesses, with Scott Zagrabelny officiating.
Mary died Jan. 21, 2014, at the Goshen Care Center Alzheimer’s Unit. Cremation has taken place.
Memorials may be made to Kingdom Hall of the Jehovah’s Witnesses.

Mary was born July 25, 1917, in Stewart, Neb., the daughter of Ralph and Susie (Humphreys) Pickinpaugh. She lived with her family on a homestead in the Shawnee/Orin Junction area. She lived there until she married Leroy Bunning on Nov. 4, 1936, in Douglas.
Mary was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses in 1940. They lived in Douglas until moving to Torrington in 1974. She cleaned houses and did ironing for various people.
She also worked at the grade school as a crossing guard and teacher’s aide and at Randolph’s Steak House.
Mary enjoyed doing word-find puzzles and reading.
She was a member of the Jehovah’s Witnesses.
Mary is survived by daughters Velma Haworth of Sacramento, Calif., Dixie Stingley of Boise, Idaho, and Donna Miller of Torrington; son David Bunning of Torrington; brother John Pickinpaugh of Orin Junction; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents Ralph and Susie Mae Pickinpaugh; husband Leroy in 1978; sisters Helen Scott, Goldie Wright and Susie Mae Turner; and sons Donald Pickinpaugh, Lynn Bunning and Charles Bunning.
