Graveside service for Mark Donovan Menter, 34, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 20, at Douglas Park Cemetery in Douglas, with Pastor Tom Strock of First Baptist Church in Lusk officiating.
Mark Menter died of natural causes on Monday, March 11, 2013, at his home in Douglas.
He was born Dec. 23, 1978, in Douglas, the son of James E. and Doris E. (Ireton) Menter. He was raised and educated in Douglas, graduating from Douglas High School.
He operated heavy equipment in his teenage years and early twenties for the family business, Menter Sand and Gravel. Most recently he worked as a heavy duty mechanic for R&R Service in Douglas.
He was married to Heather Moore on Nov. 16, 2001, and into this union Reese Alyson was born Jan. 5, 2002.
Mark was a very handy mechanic. He could work on everything from heavy equipment to small mechanic jobs, and he did so for family and friends.
He especially loved and enjoyed his daughter.
He loved video games, comedy and fishing. He never passed up a good laugh. “Anybody that was around Mark, he was sure to make them laugh.”
Mark is survived by his daughter Reese Alyson Menter; parents James E. and Doris E. Menter; siblings Kevin L. Menter and Teresa L. Wulff, all of Douglas; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Mark was preceded in death by his brothers James E. Menter Jr. on Feb. 4, 1963, and Robert L. Menter on July 26, 1963; maternal grandparents Ralph A. and Mary L.C. (Faulkner) Ireton; and paternal grandparents Robert L. Menter and Emily (DuVall) Rogina.
A memorial to the Reese Alyson Menter Education Fund in care of the Converse County Bank, P.O. Box 689, Douglas, WY 82633 would be appreciated by the family
