Marvin Malone

Former Douglas Cats baseball player Marvin Malone was drafted in the 16th round of the 2018 MLB Draft today by the Tampa Bay Rays.

He becomes the first Douglas Cats player to be drafted by a professional sports organization.

After leaving Douglas, Malone played for two years at Colby Community College in Kansas before departing to Kansas State University. A year after transferring, Malone parted ways to Southeastern University in Florida where he helped the Fire win their first ever NAIA National Championship this season.

Stay tuned over the next week for more on Malone’s journey from Douglas to being taken in this year’s MLB Draft.
