A good showing at the 1A/2A/3A East Regional Meet over the weekend put the final touches on the Bearcats track team roster for state, but the boys team will be without a key contributor after a disqualification that has been met with some skepticism.

A little extra time off can do wonders. After the Burns Invite was canceled, the Douglas track team had an extra week to prepare for their midweek warm-up with Buffalo and the biggest home meet of the year, the Douglas Invite.

Track season is upon us once more and with it comes a slew of new achievements. It’s early in the year but things are looking good for the Bearcats track squad as the teams look to improve upon last year’s performances. 

As the state continues to get snow and cold weather, the Douglas Bearcats indoor track team has been performing their hardest over the season as they are a little less than a month away from state.

Almost like clockwork, one can expect two things at the state track meet each May.

The Douglas track and field team is looking to progress as they will return home Friday to host a big 13-team invitational.
